As much as I'd like to think that I know a great deal about investing, there are definitely smarter and more experienced investors out there who I love to learn from. As I browsed through the Money Hacks Carnival today, a headline caught my eye: A Venture Capitalist’s Advice on “Regular” Investing. Whenever I see the words "venture capitalist" I'm immediately intrigued. Not that I'm a venture capitalist by any means, but it's a title I'd like to add to my resume one day ;)
Anyhow, as the author mentioned, I find it interesting that a venture capitalist offered investing advice that was a bit on the conservative side, although I do agree with the diversification. We tend to stereotype venture capitalists as people who throw money around and gamble on the next big thing.
And speaking of venture capital, as I mentioned before, this is an area of investing that I'd like to get into one day - not so much on the venture capitalist side, but more as an angel investor. I want to be the one that innovative entrepreneurs come to for financial help. If investing in businesses is something you'd like to do, I recommend reading these articles:
- The Venture Capital Aptitude Test (VCAT) (By the way, I highly recommend subscribing to Guy Kawasaki's blog if you're an entrepreneur. He's full of great ideas!)
