I'm not a person who likes to live in the past. Sure, there are some lessons we can learn from past mistakes so that we don't make those same mistakes in the future, but at the same time there is a difference between learning from the past and dwelling on the past.

Take this BusinessWeek article, for instance. It talks about how investors were thinking back to the "Black Monday" that happened two decades ago and how the economy today appears to be acting the same as it did back then. We don't need articles like this adding to the fears that are out there already.

If you've watched that movie, The Secret (highly recommended if you haven't seen it), you understand that whatever you think about the most, manifests itself. So, if all of us keep thinking and talking about this bad economy - well, guess what? We're going to have a bad economy and the media perpetuates this fear.
