As I attempt to diversify my stock portfolio, I'm trying to figure out those companies whose stock has been rising or will be rising in the near future. Doing some research on the topic, I came across some information that tell us some of the signals we can look out for when determining a stock price increase.
One of those signals is the news. More often than not, when there is alot of talk about a company amongst financial analysts, it tells us that a certain stock price may be on the rise. However, I do wonder if it's the actual talk that makes the stock rise and not the other way around. When people begin to hype up a company or a product that a company offers, doesn't that usually cause people to go out and buy the stock?
I also came across this article about how to tell when a share price is rising or sticking for further analysis.
One stock term I didn't recognize was "resistance". Investopedia defines "resistance" as:
"The price at which a stock or market can trade, but which it cannot exceed, for a certain period of time. Often referred to as "resistance level".
Now I know!
